The “Leavenworth Firewise Coalition” will meet with some very knowledgeable people for their presentation on becoming a Firewise Community. Their presentation will explain why and how we can establish our Firewise Coalition. As we all know the risk of fires in our area is a major concern, more than ever and we need to be prepared as best as we can for a fire disaster. A coalition is defined as an alliance or union between groups, factions, or parties, especially for some temporary and specific reason. Our specific reason is simple: how do we best protect our valuable property from a fire disaster?
The meeting is set for:

Date: August 10, 2016 (Wednesday)
Time: 7:00 PM
Place: Leavenworth Fire Station Conference Room

The presentation will include the following organizations and people:
Chelan County Fire District Fire Chief: Kelly O’Brien
Chumstick Wildfire Stewardship Coalition Director: Hilary Lundgren
Cascade Conservation District Education & Outreach Specialist: Amanda Levesque Newell
AAA of Washington Insurance Specialist: Joe Gluzinski
