Job Description Overview
CITY OF LEAVENWORTH
POSITION TITLE: Public Works Director
REPORTS TO: City Administrator
DEPARTMENT: Public Works
FLSA STATUS: Full-time, exempt
SALARY RANGE: $9,304 to $11,309 per month
BENEFITS: The City of Leavenworth offers excellent benefits including a 100% employer-paid, family medical/dental/vision plan premium; $80 employer HRA contribution per month; 1 day each of vacation and sick leave per month; 11.5 holidays plus 2 floating holidays per year; and a DRS retirement plan.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The City of Leavenworth, an equal opportunity employer, is seeking a unique and dynamic person who is committed to continuing and managing the success of the Public Works Department, which is responsible for all maintenance of city streets, utility infrastructure, water and sewer treatment plants, parks & cemetery, facilities, and ongoing capital improvement and planning.
An ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in engineering, planning, construction management, architecture, or public administration, preferably supplemented by training and certification in related fields; and eight or more years of progressively responsible experience in Public Works management or similar field is expected.
