Residents living in the apple maggot quarantine area of western Chelan County will be able to recycle their Christmas trees at the county’s brush drop-off site on East Leavenworth Road.
The Chelan County Public Works pit will be open two days for Christmas tree recycling. Those days are:
— Saturday, Jan. 5 from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM
— Friday, Jan. 11 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM
The minimum brush drop-off fee applies; cost is $10. Residents are reminded that the site takes only cash or checks.
The brush drop-off site, located at the intersection of East Leavenworth and Icicle roads, was opened in 2017 to service the apple maggot quarantine area of western Chelan County, which includes Leavenworth, Plain and Lake Wenatchee.
Residents living outside of the quarantine area are reminded that Wenatchee Boy Scout Troop 7 will be recycling trees on Saturday, Jan. 5, at the Stemilt Organic Recycling Center, 1465 S. Wenatchee Ave. The event is 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM; a $5 donation is suggested but not required.
