Sharon Waters
City Council Position 5
[email protected]I love this community and I love serving as a Leavenworth City Councilmember. I encourage you to attend City Council Study Sessions (2nd Tuesday each month at 8:30 am) and City Council meetings (2nd and 4th Tuesdays each month at 6:30 pm). The Planning Commission meetings are on the 1st Wednesday at 7 pm and the Design Review Board the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays at 3 pm. There are also six City Council Committee meetings and several City Council Ad Hoc Committee meetings… all are open to the public. Please let us know what you think, what your ideas are and what further information you might need.
I was born and raised in the North end of Seattle, graduating from Shoreline High School in 1962. I married a home town boy, Walter “Butch” Waters (sadly Butch passed in 2015). We have 6 grown children, 16 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. I retired after 32 years with the Cascade School District and this summer will be my 38th year working at our local swimming pool.
Please get involved…Leavenworth is a busy city with many projects in the works at any given time…I believe it is critical that we hear “your” voices as well as the voices in the surrounding Leavenworth area (as they are sometimes affected by our decisions).
I am retired, have the time and I am committed to serving the citizens and businesses in Leavenworth to the best of my ability.
Committee Memberships: Parks, Public Works, Housing, Downtown Steering, Festhalle Oversight, Leavenworth Area Promotions, Chelan/Douglas Health District Board Member, Upper Valley Museum Board Member, Solid Waste Council, Chumstick Coalition Steering Committee City Representative.
