Frequently Asked Questions:

What is the purpose of this project?
The goal is to complete preservation work on the existing roadway surfacing along Highway 2.

Where is this project located?
All asphalt along Highway 2 within City limits will be repaved. WSDOT’s project extends beyond City limits.

Why is work taking place at night?
US 2 sees less traffic during night hours. Therefore, this project will take place during off-peak hours to minimize impacts to the traveling public: 8 pm to 6 am Sundays through Fridays.

What work is taking place on 12th Street?
The City of Leavenworth has partnered with WSDOT to have 12th Street, from Highway 2 to Front Street, paved by WSDOT’s contractor. This is a cost effective way for the City to have pavement preservation work completed on a City street.
