Short-term repairs to Front Street are required due to the general poor condition of the existing streetscape. Public Works is working to address these concerns, which will require a series of construction contracts over the summer to fix these issues.
The street work is planned to occur May 26-29 and June 1-5 from 7 am to 5 pm. Scope of work includes:
- Replace concrete ‘dance floor’ in front of gazebo
- Crosswalk repair
- Seal Coat of Front Street
- Addressing several locations of ‘wavy’ bricks
- Sidewalk repairs
Updated Schedule for the Front Street Repair project:
Contractor will be working from 7am to 5pm each day. The work begins Tuesday May 26 and will be finished by Friday June 5. The contractor and contractor crews will be working in the streets. Please respect the traffic cones and barricades as to ensure worker safety.
Starting on Tuesday, May 26:
May 26 – May 29: contractor will be working on the front street concrete pad (dance floor) and repairing stormwater catch basins.
No work on the weekend of May 30 & 31. Front Street will be fully open.
June 1 – 3: contractor will be working to replace the cross walk at the corner of 8th and Front Street. This will include demolishing of the crosswalk and repaving this area and other minor asphalt repairs.
June 4: seal coating of Front St. from Gustav’s to 10th Street. Friday this area will be fully open for SUPs, Art in the Park, etc.
June 5: contractor will finish miscellaneous repairs and perform general clean-up
NOTE: To allow proper cure time of newly poured concrete, no vehicle access between 8th & 9th street will be permitted until Monday 6/8. Pedestrian access will be fully opened on Friday June 5th.
