LEAVENWORTH, WA – April 2, 2025—The City of Leavenworth invites Leavenworth area residents and community members to a workshop on wildfire preparedness on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at 5:00 PM. The workshop will be held in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 700 US Hwy 2 in Leavenworth.

This informational event will feature experts from partnering agencies, including Chelan County Fire District No. 3 (Fire District), Chelan County Emergency Management Services (Chelan County), the United States Forest Service (Forest Service), Cascadia Conservation District, and Cascadia Prescribed Burn Association. Presentations will cover vital topics such as:

  • Preparedness and Fuels Reduction – Led by the Forest Service, this session will focus on community-wide wildfire readiness and mitigation efforts.
  • Homeowner Preparedness & Home Hardening – The Fire District will discuss practical steps to protect your property and share updates on the Chelan County Community Wildfire Preparedness Plan.
  • Emergency Alerts, Evacuation & Refuge Areas – Chelan County will provide an overview of their Everbridge communications system to keep residents informed and prepared during emergencies.

The City encourages all community members to attend and learn more about becoming Firewise and preparing for wildfire season. Together, we can help protect our homes, neighborhoods, and natural resources. The workshop will be recorded for those unable to attend.
