LEAVENWORTH, WA – March 24, 2025 – The City of Leavenworth is proud to announce that City Clerk Andrea Fischer, CMC, has earned the prestigious designation of Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC), awarded by the International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC). This significant milestone demonstrates Fischer’s dedication to her profession and commitment to lifelong learning. Fischer was hired as Leavenworth’s City Clerk in August 2022.
The CMC designation is only granted to municipal clerks who complete rigorous education requirements and exhibit a proven record of meaningful contributions to their local government, community, and state. Fischer’s achievement is a testament to her hard work, professionalism, and dedication to enhancing local governance.
City Administrator, Matthew “Selby”, expressed the City’s pride in Fischer’s achievement: “Andrea’s dedication to her role and commitment to continued professional and personal growth are remarkable. Her achievement as a Certified Municipal Clerk is a moment of pride for the City of Leavenworth. I congratulate her on this significant accomplishment and celebrate the positive impact her professional expertise brings to our city’s leadership team and this community.”
The International Institute of Municipal Clerks, a non-profit corporation founded in 1947, has 14,000 members across the United States, Canada, and 15 other countries. Its mission is to promote educational opportunities and professional development for municipal clerks worldwide.
