Planning Commission.


Now is a great time to become involved with the City Planning Commission!
The Planning Commission is beginning to create their 2012 work plan and a range of updates to the City’s Comprehensive Plan. The Planning Commission is focusing their work plan on the creation of a Parks Plan, update of the Shoreline Master Program, review of the City’s Comprehensive Plan for potential updates, necessary Municipal Code amendments, and other amendments. The overall role of the Planning Commission is to draft new development regulations and to develop long-range planning documents related to local need and pursuant to State law under the Growth Management Act.
The Planning Commission meets the first Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. Now is the time to get involved! Two positions are open and available (Positions No. 2 and 5). If you reside or own property inside the city limits of Leavenworth, or reside or own property within the urban growth area, and want to get involved in your community, contact Cary Siess, Development Services Staff at 509-548-5275 for information.
Applications will be accepted until January 1, 2012, and the selection process will be on or before January 15, 2012.
