As wildfire smoke continues to impact our region, we want to take a moment to connect with you regarding pool operations. Because we operate an outdoor pool, unhealthy air quality directly affects our operations.
We know how important the pool is to our community—especially with limited summer days—and we completely share your desire to get back into the water!
Here’s what to expect this week:
Forecasted Air Quality: Local forecasts indicate that we may experience “unhealthy” to “very unhealthy” air quality conditions through Thursday (8/6).|
Active Monitoring: Rather than closing for full days in advance, we will closely track real-time sensor ratings from the Ecology Air Quality Map, AirNow.gov , PurpleAir throughout each day.
Potential Re-openings: If air quality improves to safe operating levels (below 151 AQI), and sufficient staffing is available, we will make every effort to open for programming.
How to Stay Updated. Because air quality conditions can shift quickly, we will provide updates via:
RecDesk: Emailed directly to registered users.
Social Media & Website: Posted to our social media channels.
The health, safety, and well-being of both our pool staff and patrons are top priorities for us. Thank you so much for your understanding as we navigate wildfire season together.
Please stay safe, limit outdoor exertion when smoke is heavy, and stay tuned for updates!
