The City of Leavenworth is pleased to announce that water main-related work is nearly complete. As we move into the final phases of construction, please take note of upcoming road closures and temporary changes to waste collection services.
Upcoming Road Closures
On Monday, August 17, Cedar Street and W Center Street (past O’Grady) will be closed to all through traffic for paving operations. Drivers are asked to use alternate routes and follow all posted detour signs. If you have any appointments during the day, please park your car on an adjacent street.
Important Garbage Collection Instructions
Because Monday is a regularly scheduled collection day for garbage, accommodations have been made for residents on Cedar and W Center Streets:
- Designated Staging Areas: The contractor will set up coned-off areas at the end of the roads so Waste Management crews can easily identify and empty the cans.
- Drop-off Locations: Residents are requested to place their garbage cans at the end of the street outside the active construction zone.
- No Truck Access: Waste Management vehicles will be unable to travel down these streets due to paving equipment.
