Christmas lighting in Leavenworth will bring additional traffic to US 2
Three weekends of festivities kick off Dec. 6
LEAVENWORTH – One of the signs in North Central Washington that the holidays have arrived is the annual Christmas lighting in Leavenworth.
The Christmas lighting and festivities are held the first three weekends of December each year, and bring with them additional traffic on US 2 between the Big Y and Tumwater Canyon. Each Saturday of the Christmas lighting weekends, beginning Dec. 7, signal lights and HAWK lights will be shut off in the City of Leavenworth beginning at 1 p.m. Traffic will be flagger controlled for the evening.
The Washington State Department of Transportation and our local partners take this opportunity to remind travelers to prepare for winter driving conditions, check traffic and pass information with the WSDOT app or WSDOT travel alerts, pack water and snacks for travelling, and stay attentive while driving so that everyone can reach their destination and enjoy some holiday fun.
