Starting April 14, travelers in the area should expect to see WSDOT crews working, turn-lane closures and flagger-controlled traffic in three intersections of US 2 between Evans Street/Ninth Street and River Bend Drive.

WSDOT crews will update traffic signal cabinets at these intersections and the work will occur April 14-15 and 22-23, during the following times:

  • US 2 and Evans Street/Ninth Street: Work will occur from 7 p.m. to 11 a.m., closing the turn lane onto US 2.
  • US 2 and Front Street/Chumstick Highway: 7 p.m.-11 a.m., closing the turn lane on to US 2.
  • US 2 and River Bend Drive: 6 a.m.-7 p.m. when setting the foundation, then 7 p.m.-6 a.m. when installing the new signal cabinet.

Most of the work listed above will occur April 22-23. Between April 14-15, the work will occur off-roadway. When the traffic signals are off, flaggers will control traffic.

This work is part of a project that has updated traffic signal cabinets in 13 other locations throughout Central Washington, starting last fall.
