Street Maintenance Project:
The City’s contractor will be starting work in the downtown area the week of Monday, September 9 (Monday – Friday, 6am to 6pm). For ALL streets included in this project, we will need a clear right-of-way between the edge of the curb to the edge of the curb. This project will overlap in timing with the scrub seal work. Asphalt paving and crack sealing for the residential streetswill start on or around September 9 at approximately 6:30am. During this work, there will be partial access to and from driveways and side roads. Vehicles should avoid driving or parking on the shoulder of this road until work is complete at the end of the day.
See the attached map for reference (i.e., orange, green, and blue lines). Please note that 8th Street and the downtown alley (Edelweiss Weg) are scheduled for maintenance but not shown.

Scrub Seal Project:
Scrub seal efforts have begun! You may have seen the pavement markings around town. If your street has been selected for a scrub seal, please know that this is a roadway surface treatment consisting of emulsion asphalt binder with a layer of embedded aggregate (the scrub seal map is online). The scrub seal provides a new skid-resistant wearing surface, stops raveling, seals minor cracks, and prohibits further deterioration of the existing roadways.
During the scrub seal work, the roadway can be driven on immediately after the rollers have been over the scrub rock. This work may result in minor delays, but access to homes and businesses will remain open. It is best if traffic drives slowly (20 mph or less) on the newly sealed surface for several days after the scrub seal. The roadway will have loose gravel on it until it is swept 3 to 7 days after the scrub seal. Bicycles and motorcycles, please use caution!
