Today, September 22, 2021, Tumwater Canyon will be closed from 8am-3pm so WSDOT can do winter prep.
From the WSDOT Facebook page:
It’s that time of year when we really start gearing up for winter so drivers who use US 2/Tumwater Canyon west of Leavenworth should be prepared for a full closure from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22 between mileposts 84.5 to 99. During the closure our crews will be doing some pre-winter maintenance work including removing potentially hazardous trees, repairing pavement, guardrails, ditches and shoulders and clearing catch basins.
Passenger vehicles can use Chumstick Highway as a detour but because of load restrictions on that road, freight should use I-90 to US 97/Blewett Pass.
