The City of Leavenworth is seeking proposals from qualified consultants to perform feasibility and design for the partial demolition of a former elementary school and renovation for use as a library and community center. The work may also include redesigning the existing library space located in City Hall for expansion of city operations as a later phase. The city desires to evaluate the existing Osborn School structure for life/safety and potential building environmental issues with the plan for reuse as a first step in the feasibility process. The project will involve the following facilities:
- The former Osborn Elementary School, located at 225 Central Street (parcels 241701680398. 241701680405, 241701680404) is 25,328 sf and includes a library, gym, kitchen, administrative offices, and classrooms. There is a desire to conduct a partial demolition of the building down to no more than 12,000 sf.
- The City Hall facility is located at 700 Hwy 2 (parcel 241712220450) includes offices, breakroom, meeting rooms, Council Chamber Hall, and leased area for the North Central Washington Libraries Leavenworth branch.
