LEAVENWORTH, WA, December 5, 2024 – Together, the City of Leavenworth, Chelan County Fire District #3, Chelan County Public Works, Chelan County Sheriff’s Office, Chelan County Emergency Management, Cascade Medical, Washington State Patrol, Washington State Department of Transportation, and the Leavenworth Chamber of Commerce are working collectively to enhance public safety and ensure clear routes for emergency vehicles during the Village of Lights: Christmastown festival happening now through the end of December, in downtown Leavenworth.
The increase in traffic flows and associated congestion along US Highway 2, Chumstick Highway, and North Road has the potential to decrease emergency services’ response times in the Leavenworth area. These additional parking restrictions and traffic revisions are crucial for ensuring first responders have quick access during emergencies.

| No Parking on Both Sides: Pine St (Fir St to Ski Hill Dr); Ski Hill Dr (Evans St to Pine St); Evans St (Ski Hill Dr to Hwy 2); and Commercial St (Division St to 14th St) Road Closed: 9th St (US Hwy 2 to Commercial St) Turn Lane Closed: Hwy 2 (westbound) onto 9th St (i.e., no left-turn)Hwy 2 (eastbound) onto 9th St (i.e., no right-turn) |
