On December 8, 2020, Tony Buhr of the Wenatchee World, reported that Mayor Florea stated that Leavenworth’s Christmas lights may be limited to weekdays. Mayor Florea is not recommending, directing, suggesting, or implying to the Chamber of Commerce any changes to the current Christmas lighting format.
Mayor Florea has not directed, recommended, suggested, or implied to the City Administrator any desired changes to the current Christmas lighting set up.
Mayor Florea stands behind the Chamber of Commerce’s decision to cancel all Christmas activities in a manner that is consistent with the Governor’s restrictions during the COVID-19 pandemic.
