The City of Leavenworth has discovered a large rock obstructing the sewer main that enters the Wastewater Treatment Plant at 1402 Commercial Street. The obstruction is located near the intersection of Commercial Street and 14th Street, directly in front of the Wastewater Treatment Plant gate.
The City’s Engineering and Public Works staff will coordinate with J.M. Pacific Construction to complete the repair while maintaining operation of the Wastewater Treatment Plant.
Investigation work will begin Tuesday, September 8, 2026. Construction is expected to continue around the clock until the repair is complete, with completion anticipated by Thursday, September 10. The construction work is expected to take no more than 48 hours.
During this period, nearby residents should expect noise, heavy equipment, and other construction activity during both daytime and nighttime hours.
Anticipated Schedule:
- Tuesday, September 8: Site investigation beginning in the morning and continuing overnight.
- Wednesday, September 9: Repair work beginning in the early morning and continuing overnight.
- Thursday, September 10: Work continuing until the repair is complete.
