The Cascade School District, the City of Leavenworth, and the National Guard are setting up COVID-19 testing for the larger Leavenworth community.  The final round of drive thru testing will take place from Tuesday September 8, 2020 through Friday September 11, 2020. Drive thru testing will be held at Cascade High School from 2:00 PM 7:00 PM. The address is 10190 Chumstick Hwy.

“The tests will be conducted for any member of the community who wishes to access this information; the tests are minimally invasive and include a nose swab that will be self-applied by the individual; results will be ready in 72 hours” said Mark Thomas of the National Guard.

Dr. Tracey Beckendorf-Edou, Superintendent of the Cascade School District indicated “the Cascade School District is happy to partner with the National Guard and the City to facilitate this important public health activity.”

Mayor Florea of Leavenworth indicated “we are grateful to the National Guard and Mr. Thomas for bringing these resources to our City; last week we had limited time to get the word out and still there was significant interest.  With more time to get the word out, we expect greater awareness of this second and final testing event.”

City Administrator Ana Cortez indicated that the second testing event will take place September 8 through September 11, 2020. “We are thankful to the Cascade School District for letting us use the Cascade High School parking lot.  To answer two commonly asked questions: No appointments or documentation of any sort will be required” she indicated.

Cortez.
