On December 5, 2023, the Association of Washington Cities (AWC) confirmed Mayor Florea’s appointment as a member of the AWC Board Legislative Steering Committee, with the term of January 8, 2024, through March 7, 2024. The term is limited to the duration of the legislative session.
The Committee was formed to provide rapid input and direction to AWC staff in response to the quickly shifting landscape of the legislative process during session, when it is not practical to call a full Board meeting. The Committee meets during the legislative session on an “as needed” basis when difficult, time sensitive issues arise. We will develop a regular meeting schedule and will let you know when the meetings will be.
