LEAVENWORTH, WA – December 13, 2024 – The City of Leavenworth is seeking volunteers to apply for Position No. 1 on the Planning Commission, a citizen advisory board, beginning in February 2025. The position was previously held by Janessa Ruckle.

The Planning Commission is responsible for long-range planning and legislative policy recommendations to the City Council. Planning Commissioners help achieve the community’s vision by developing the goals and policies of the City’s Comprehensive Plan and through updates to the Leavenworth Municipal Code and Shoreline Master Program.

Potential commission members must reside within the city limits or own property within city limits or the Urban Growth Area (UGA). The position will serve the remainder of a four-year term (ending April 2026).

The Planning Commission meets at 7:00 PM in the Council Chambers at City Hall on the first Wednesday of each month. Regular meetings typically last 1.5 to 2 hours, though they may extend longer due to specific topics.

Interested parties who meet the qualifications are invited to submit a letter of interest via email, mail, or in person by 4:00 PM on January 10, 2025. Letters of interest shall be submitted to:
