To get ahead of bus parking this holiday season, here are some details regarding loading, unloading, and parking for buses in Leavenworth. The Cascade School District has several large parking lots located not far from the downtown core that provide ideal parking for buses.  Below is more information for the District’s parking lots:

  • Alpine Lakes Elementary School: Can hold about 15-20 buses.
  • Cascade High School: Can accommodate up to 30 buses. It’s best to notify them in advance to reserve spots for buses, as tracking by different fundraiser groups might be tricky.
  • Cost:
    • If there is a group onsite collecting money for a school fundraiser, the cost for a bus would be $50 for the day.
    • If no one is there to collect money, parking is free but on a first-come, first-served basis.
    • For guaranteed spots, contact Teresa Disher to hold and manage the site. The cost is $200 per bus. We highly recommend making arrangements in advance.

Please note that the City will continue to enforce the 20-minute limit for unloading at the designated loading zone along US Highway 2. Bus drivers should inform riders of the limited drop-off timeframe. Buses parked in this area exceeding the time limit will be cited and vehicles without a driver present may be towed. This zone is a shared area for all buses, with strict timing enforced.

There is no bus parking at any time in city-owned parking lots in the downtown core. There are six (6) oversized, pay-to-park stalls in the Glacier lot, available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Buses are not allowed to park in residential neighborhoods, and there is a no-idle ordinance within city limits. Due to high pedestrian volume, buses are not allowed in the downtown corridor. For loading, please use the bus pull-in adjacent to the Leavenworth Park-and-Ride for picking up riders.

During select weekends of the Village of Lights’ Christmastown festival, the City will have flaggers and signage posted in restricted parking areas. Please follow all traffic revisions.
