Pipkin Construction will begin work on the City’s 2014 City Wide Improvement Project on May 5, 2014. One of the initial projects within the overall project scope will be the sidewalk repair, asphalt repair and sealcoating of Commercial Street from Division Street through Ninth Street.
COMMERCIAL STREET in this area will be completely closed for vehicle traffic for construction Monday Through Thursday May 5 through May 22, 2014. Streets will be open and accessible evenings after 6:00 PM and will be open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
The pavement improvement project will consist of sidewalk removal and repair at the corner of 10th and Commercial, removal and repair of failed asphalt, some pre-leveling and applications of oil and rock (sealcoating).
Vehicle traffic will be not be allowed or limited onto these streets during this time frame to allow for the repair work to be done properly. Property and Business Owners will need to access their home, business or property from the alleys behind their property or park on adjacent City streets. Parking in the alleys is space limited and parking in the alley right-of-way is not allowed.
