WEATHER ALERT: A Winter Storm Warning is in effect from 1 p.m. today to 10 a.m. Tuesday. That means travel could be difficult on your evening and morning commutes.
The National Weather Service in Spokane reports that moderate to heavy snow accumulations will return by late this afternoon and spread across the remainder of the Inland Northwest this evening. Snow will be heavy tonight and Tuesday morning. Snow accumulations of 5 to 10 inches expected in Wenatchee, Chelan, Entiat, Cashmere, Waterville, Mansfield, and Badger Mountain Road. We will see a brief break in the snowfall Tuesday in some locations, with the snow restarting Tuesday night and continuing into Wednesday.
All crews will be doing snow and ice control this week. In some districts, that includes pushing back snow in cul-de-sacs and turnarounds as well as winging back snow with a grader to widen roads.
Chelan County Public Works reminds motorists to consider staying off the roads in adverse conditions. Motorists are asked to take extra precautions if they must drive, including: Do not drive in snow drifts, stay at least 150 back from snowplows, drive at a reduced speed and give yourself plenty of space between vehicles.
Office Closure: Chelan County offices will be closed Monday, Feb. 18, in observance of Presidents’ Day.
