Fire season is well underway this summer.

During a fire, we as a community are responsible for responding in a manner that reduces risks to ourselves, our families, and our property Here are a few ways to respond responsibly during a wildfire event near you:

> Place your prepped go-bag by your front door or in your vehicle.

> Have a Wildfire Evacuation Checklist ready to use as a guide to evacuate quickly and safely, when needed and if time allows.

> Ensure you and your family know evacuation routes, meeting locations, and safe zones.

> Park your vehicle facing or on the street with at least a half tank of gas so you can leave quickly if needed.

> Stay apprised of the status of nearby fires by signing up for alerts on Everbridge, monitoring local radio stations, and following trusted social media sites.

> Evacuation alerts will be issued quickly as conditions warrant to notify residents, businesses, and landowners. If you feel unsafe, you do NOT need to wait until you are notified to leave.

Be informed. Be prepared. Stay safe.
