POSITION TITLE: COMMUNICATIONS & SPECIAL PROJECTS MANAGER
REPORTS TO: CITY ADMINISTRATOR
DEPARTMENT: ADMINISTRATIVE
POSITIONS SUPERVISED: None
FLSA STATUS: Full-Time, exempt, unrepresented
SALARY RANGE: $5,970 – $7,256 per month
BENEFITS: Excellent monthly benefits including 100% employer paid medical/dental/vision plan premium, $70 employer HRA contribution, 1 day each of vacation and sick leave per month, 11.5 holidays plus 2 floating holidays per year, DRS retirement plan.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Communications & Special Projects Manager manages the development and implementation of effective communications and public engagement strategies that promote transparency and increase accountability of City operations, elected officials, staff, and programs. This position is the designated Public Information Officer for the City. Duties include initiating, planning, coordinating, evaluating, and manage complex technical and administrative projects and programs and production and distribution of information for external and internal audiences and analysis of municipal services and through research and findings related to public services. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring effective community outreach for City projects so that stakeholder groups are informed and aware of opportunities for involvement and potential impacts.
