Drop-off brush sites at the Dryden and Chelan transfer stations open on Friday, March 29, 2019.
However, due to wet soil conditions, the Leavenworth drop-off brush site will not open until Friday, April 12.
Residents can drop off trees and limbs (limited to 12 inches in diameter), leaves and other brush as well as UNTREATED wood. No plastic bags, grass clippings, sod, root wads, noxious weed, or treated lumber are permitted.
The Chelan site is at the Chelan Transfer Station, 23235 Highway 97A, north of Chelan. It is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. (Hours are extended to 5 p.m. beginning May 1.)
The Dryden Transfer Station, 9073 Highway 2, is open 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays. The Dryden Transfer Station does not accept brush and yard waste from the Apple Maggot Quarantine Area.
The Leavenworth site, located at the intersection of East Leavenworth and Icicle roads, serves residents living in the Apple Maggot Quarantine Zone of Chelan County, which includes much of the western portion of the county, including Leavenworth, Plain, and Lake Wenatchee. Beginning April 12, the site will be open on Fridays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Costs vary at each of the drop-off brush sites.
Residents are reminded that the Stemilt Organic Recycling Center, 1465 S. Wenatchee Ave. in Wenatchee, is open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. The center accepts yard debris for $10 per cubic yard and sells compost as well.
