The City of Leavenworth Sign Code applies to all signage within Leavenworth city limits and Urban Growth Area. All signs must comply with the requirements of the Code, which provides definitions and standards (such as size, height, placement, and design) for signage. Most signage within the Commercial Zone Districts is required to be compliant with the City’s Old World Bavarian theme, and may require review and approval of the City’s Design Review Board. Signage within Residential Zone Districts is also regulated, but not required to be Old World Bavarian in appearance, and in many instances is exempt from the requirement to obtain a permit. If you have questions regarding signage you would like to put up, or to find out if a permit is necessary, please call Development Services Department staff for help and information at 509-548-5275.
Business signage is allowed within the Commercial Zone Districts of the City provided that such signage is compliant with the standards of the Sign Code.
