Request for 2020 Comprehensive Plan Amendment Proposals

The City of Leavenworth is entering into the annual Comprehensive Plan Amendment cycle and is now receiving requests for proposals to amend the City’s Comprehensive Plan, including the Land Use Zoning Map. For a proposed amendment to be considered for sponsorship by the City Council, submittal is due by December 31, 2019. Privately sponsored map proposals are due by January 31, 2020. Applications for amendments to the Comprehensive Plan are available at City Hall or online. For further information, please contact the Development Services Manager, Lilith Vespier, at (509) 548-5275, or by e-mail at dsmanager@cityofleavenworth.com, or mail City of Leavenworth, P.O. Parking Equipment & Management Services

Notice is hereby given that the City of Leavenworth is requesting proposals for Parking Equipment and Management Services. The purpose of this solicitation is for the City of Leavenworth to select a firm, or partnering firms, to provide the City with parking metering equipment, vehicle sensor equipment, citation issuance equipment, permit management, pay by cell services with integrated guidance applications with related software and services, and optional elements as described in the Request for Proposal.

The detailed Request for Proposal may be obtained by accessing it on the City’s webpage at: www.cityofleavenworth.com or by contacting City Hall at (509) 548-5275. The City will begin a review and selection process on November 15, 2019 and continue until the selection is made. Proposals will be accepted until the position is filled.

Proposal submission deadline is Thursday, November 14, 2019 at 2:00 PM

Questions or request for clarification must be received on or before October 31, 2019; responses will be provided to all prospective Proposers on or before November 7, 2019. Response can only be provided to vendors on the Prospective Proposers List who have provided proper contact information. Now Hiring: Public Works Supervisor

The City of Leavenworth is seeking an energetic self-directed individual for a full-time position as Public Works Supervisor.

This position supervises the Public Works Maintenance Division staff and participates in the construction, maintenance, and repair of the City’s streets, sanitary sewer, water distribution, stormwater, commercial solid waste collections, and cemetery operations.

Successful candidates will have six-years of street/utility maintenance or other occupation experience involving similar job duties, as well as maintenance and supervisory/lead worker experience. See job description for further details.

The salary range for 2019 is $4,429 – $5,968 per month based on step increases over time; excellent benefits and retirement package included. Applicant is required to pass a pre-employment drug test, physical, and background check. The position is included under the bargaining union agreement with Teamsters Local Union No. 760.

Notice Regarding Mandatory Updates to the City’s Development and Critical Area Code Requirements »


The City of Leavenworth has completed mandatory updates to the City’s development and critical area code requirements. These changes are effective today, October 7, 2019. A full copy of the Ordinances 1596 and 1597 may be viewed at City Hall or requested.

The mandatory updates are required to be completed every eight years with the Comprehensive Plan update, per the Growth Management Act. The State provided the City of Leavenworth, and other smaller cities, the opportunity to extend the completion date by two years. The City completed the update of the Comprehensive Plan in 2017 and the code amendments in 2019. With this work completed, the City is in compliance with the Growth Management Act and therefore eligible to request for various grants.
