Open City Council Seat: Applications Being Accepted

The City will begin the process of filling the City Council position held by retiring Council Member Robert Francis by accepting letters of interest.

Under Washington law, the City Council has 90 days to appoint a city resident to fill the vacancy. Residents interested in serving in the position are encouraged to submit a letter outlining relevant experience and qualifications to City Administrator Joel Walinski at Leavenworth City Hall by 5:00 p.m. on October 5, 2016. A follow-up application and questionnaire will then be provided to all applicants. The City Council has tentatively scheduled October 18th for interviews and selection.

Position No. 5 is the available City Council seat with a term ending in December, 2017. The salary for this position is $250 per month.

Under Washington law qualified applicants must be a registered voter, must reside within the City, and must have lived within the City limits for at least one year.
