Now Hiring Festhalle Custodian/Janitor 24 Hour Position »

The City of Leavenworth, an equal opportunity employer, is now accepting applications for the following position:  Festhalle Custodian/Janitor – maximum of 24 Hours per week position. This position is a non union covered position with a hourly wage of $10.50 – 14.50/hr. Requirements:  minimum 21 years old and WA state driver’s license with record that is acceptable to the City; position will require a physical/drug screening.  Individual must be able to work weekends, holidays, early mornings and evenings.  Duties include all necessary janitorial cleaning tasks and event setups as required by specific Festhalle Use Contracts and other related duties as directed.

FACILITY MAINTENANCE WORKER 

The City of Leavenworth, an equal opportunity employer, is now accepting applications for a Facility Maintenance Worker with year-round benefits and retirement package.  This position is a union covered position with a six-month probationary pay starting at $3,174/month and increasing to $3,734/month thereafter.  Requirements include having a WA state driver’s license with record that is acceptable to the City; see full job description for additional requirements.  Individual must be able to work weekends, holidays, and required overtime.  Duties include:  carpentry, electrical, plumbing, glazier, masonry, and painting tasks.  This individual may be assigned to snow removal responsibilities, equipment operation when necessary and other duties as assigned. Wanted—Bright, motivated people who care about the future of

Leavenworth to serve on the City of Leavenworth

Planning Commission.


Now is a great time to become involved with the City Planning Commission!
The Planning Commission is beginning to create their 2012 work plan and a range of updates to the City’s Comprehensive Plan. The Planning Commission is focusing their work plan on the creation of a Parks Plan, update of the Shoreline Master Program, review of the City’s Comprehensive Plan for potential updates, necessary Municipal Code amendments, and other amendments. The overall role of the Planning Commission is to draft new development regulations and to develop long-range planning documents related to local need and pursuant to State law under the Growth Management Act.
The Planning Commission meets the first Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. Now is the time to get involved! Two positions are open and available (Positions No. 2 and 5). If you reside or own property inside the city limits of Leavenworth, or reside or own property within the urban growth area, and want to get involved in your community, contact Cary Siess, Development Services Staff at 509-548-5275 for information.
Applications will be accepted until January 1, 2012, and the selection process will be on or before January 15, 2012.
